WEL Address London Energy Partnership Forum

Stewart Boyle of WEL addressed the annual London Energy Partnership forum in City Hall recently. With a special Biomass Energy focus, Stewart addressed the topical issues of air emissions, fuel choice in London, and recent developments. WEL, who have recently signed contracts for 450kW, 400kW and 120kW systems in the London area, are seeing a big increase in business in the capital. On the issue of air emissions, Stewart told the 200-plus audience that "we acknowledge that a big increase in biomass heating will have some, albeit relatively modest, impact on NOx and particulate levels. We urge a two-phase response, initially focusing on best practice to ensure high efficiency boilers and quality fuel, with newer technology to be introduced in 3 to 5 years time".
