Redhill and Surrey officials visit WEL boiler sites

A group of councilors and staff from local authorities in Reigate and Banstead Borough Council and Surrey County Council recently visited two Wood Energy Ltd boilers as part of a study tour. They visited Chobham Lakes, a 400kW district heating system as well as Park 25, an 840kW district heating project in Redhill. They also visited local fuel supplier LC Energy from the Albury Estate, who are members of South East Wood Fuels Ltd (SEWF). Stewart Boyle of WEL and Ray Dill of Reigate and Banstead Borough Council hosted the Tour. Ray Dill was enthusiastic over "clear signs that biomass heating is a win-win for us. We have lots of woodland, strong policies to reduce carbon, real world biomass examples in action, and a willingness to work with the private sector in a partnership. It's a very positive dynamic".
