The Royal Bath and West of England Showground near Shepton Mallet in Somerset is home to the Royal Bath and West Show which is the largest Agricultural show in the South West attracting over 160,000 people per year. The Edmund Rack Pavilion is a large exhibition space on the showground which holds events throughout the year. The building was previously heated by individual oil boilers situated around the edge of the building which gave rise to very poor heat distribution.
Wood Energy Ltd installed a 500kW Binder pellet boiler as a containerised unit, with full electrical and mechanical installation within the container. A second container was used as the pellet storage unit designed for pneumatic delivery of wood pellets. The Binder boiler has a fully automatic cleaning system of the heat exchanger tubes, exhaust gas recirculation to allow the combustion temperature to be controlled to avoid clinkering and an exhaust gas cyclone to remove fly ash. A new heat distribution and air handling system was installed which creates a cushion of warm air at ground level to raise the temperature inside the exhibition space.

Netham Park's new community sports pavilion in east Bristol has a range of facilities including a changing rooms, a café and community room. The building, on two storeys, was funded by Bristol City Council, Community at Heart, the Football Foundation and the English Cricket Board and designed by the architects Alec French Partnership to incorporate the needs of the local community now and into the future.
The pavilion has its hot water and heating provided by a 150kW Binder boiler fuelled by wood-chip. A 2000L buffer tank has been included to allow for high instantaneous hot water usage, for example, when the showers are in use, and to reduce the short-cycling of the boiler under low-load conditions.
